Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the municipality of Kutler Bay has a total area of 12.69 square kilometers, of which 12.43 square kilometers are occupied by land and 0.26 square kilometers by water. The area of water resources of the district is 2.05% of its total area.

Demographics

According to the 2000 census, Katler Bay had 24,781 inhabitants, 6,322 families, 8,396 households and 8,725 dwellings. The average population density was about 1,952.8 people per square kilometer. The racial composition of the settlement was as follows: 73.72% white, 15.68% black or African-American, 0.27% Native American, 1.73% Asian, 0.07% Pacific, 3.76% mixed, 4.78 % - other nationalities. Spanish speakers made up 36.75% of the total population.

Of the 8,396 households, 40.8 per cent raised children under the age of 18, 53.6 per cent were married couples, 16.4 per cent were unmarried, and 24.7 per cent were unmarried. 19.9 per cent of the total number of families were living independently at the time of the census, with 9.8 per cent being single elderly persons aged 65 and over. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.35.

The population of the municipality by age range according to the 2000 census was as follows: 29.1% are under 18, 7.9% are between 18 and 24, 31.6% are between 25 and 44, 20.2% are between 45 and 64, and 11.2% are between 65 and older. The average age of residents was 34 years. For every 100 women in Catler Bay, there were 92.7 men, with 86.9 men also over 18 years of age for every 100 women aged 18 and over.

The average income per household was $45,917 and the average income per household was $50,956. Men had an average income of $34,940 per year, compared to $27,565 for women. Per capita income was $45,917 per year. 9.2 per cent of the total number of families in the locality and 11.5 per cent of the total population were below the poverty line at the time of the census, with 14.3 per cent below the age of 18 and 18.0 per cent below the age of 65 and above.
